Side by Side – Chella Mask reviews and a giveaway ...

The reason you need to know about Chella Skincare  is that they are experts in finding specialized solutions to our skincare concerns. They have a wonderful skincare line for our everyday needs as well but what really attracts Beauty Info Zone to this brand is their belief in fighting the signs of aging and targeting them with their products.

One of their specialities is restoring lackluster skin. We’ve noticed that when we use Chella’s Skin Firming Primer. Now we’re noticing it with two different masks they’ve created.

Lisa and Marcia both tested the Balancing Mask, Clay & Seaweed Treatment along with the Resurfacing Mask, Enzyme & Lactic Treatment. We enjoyed both of them and picked one each to review. This isn’t a “versus” review since there’s nothing but love here. Read our SIDES and then find out how you too can try these products.

Chella Resurfacing Mask

I’m reviewing the Resurfacing Mask, Enzyme & Lactic Treatment ($60, 75 ml/2.5 oz) which acts more like a peel than a mask. It’s recommended that you use this once a week and I wouldn’t use it more often than that. The ingredients in it (lactic acid and protease enzymes) encourage cell turnover. Pro Vitamin B-5 helps restore elasticity and moisture. 

I thoroughly cleanse my skin, then apply it to my face and neck (after pulling my hair into a ponytail). You can leave it on for 10 – 15 minutes. I started with 10 minutes to see how my skin would react and after a few times switched it up to 15 minutes. While it’s on my face it feels tingly. There’s a tiny fragrance to it but nothing that would be noticeable to most people. It doesn’t harden like you might expect with some masks. I wash it off and follow immediately with my moisturizer.

What I find is that my skin feels a little sensitive afterwards. It’s also a little red. I recommend you use this at night only because of this. I use my richest moisturizer since it feels so soothing after this mask. The next morning my face looks and feels glorious. It’s so incredibly smooth to the touch and it’s glowing (not red, just glowing). I make sure I don’t exfoliate the following day either since my skin is so fresh that it doesn’t need it.

Chella recommends using the Balancing Mask as a follow up but I actually prefer to use it the day before I use the Resurfacing Mask.   This is recommended for all skin types. If you are looking for a way to give new life to your dull skin, this mask is a must.

Marcia, you are right on regarding the Resurfacing Mask.  It’s truly fabulous, and I love to alternate using it with the Balancing Mask Clay & Seaweed Treatment ($45).  I can’t pick my favorite between the two – they are terrific on their own, but I also think they play so well together it’s a true bonus if you have them both.

Chella Balancing Mask Clay & Seaweed Treatment

The Balancing Mask is a clay mask that sinks deep into your pores, clearing them out while also treating the skin with seaweed.  Seaweed hydrates the skin and helps increase it’s elasticity.  It’s so different from most clay masks that really dry out the skin,  I have never had a clay mask leave my skin feeling so soft and hydrated.

Because it really clears out the dirt and grime, it’s a wonderful prevention tool for breakouts.  But it works as ‘triage’ too – if you have some blemishes, put this on as a spot treatment at night and you will wake up blemish free, especially if you catch the blemishes right as they are forming.

Chella Balancing Mask - check out the clay goodness!

The Balancing Mask looks and feels very gentle compared to most clay masks.  It doesn’t have a strong astringent scent, and it doesn’t sting or make my skin feel sore or dry afterward.  I use this at night after cleansing.

After I wash my face, I pat it dry so it’s still slightly moist, then smooth the mask on to my face and neck.  I leave it on for about 15 minutes then rinse with warm water.  My skin looks and feels extremely clean but also hydrated.  I follow that with serum and light moisturizer, and I’m ready for bed.

I use this mask once a week, and I use the Resurfacing Mask once a week.  You can use one right after the other for a real ‘spa’ treat, but I typically don’t have the time, so I use them on seperate days.  I think Chella has lots of great products, and the masks truly don’t disappoint.
